Involuntary Discharge
To ensure the correct and complete information is being provided to the Network when a facility has made the rare decision to involuntarily discharge a patient we will begin requiring the facility to complete an involuntary discharge packet. Since the new Conditions for Coverage in October 2008, the Network has required documentation for all involuntary discharges. However, this packet will serve as a guide for facilities in providing the appropriate and complete information.
