Network-specific Quality Assessment and Improvement Project – Increasing Influenza Immunizations
During the 2010-11 contract year, using 2008 Dialysis Facility Report data, facilities with vaccination rates less than 55% were included in an Influenza Immunization project. For the current 2011-12 contract year, the Medical Review Board is collecting baseline data on 100% of facilities, concentrating on both patient and staff immunizations.
The project goal this year is to document the current influenza vaccination rates in this region. Network 8’s longer term “stretch” goals are that 90% of patients and 100% of staff will be vaccinated. Patients and staff on census as of December 31 will be included in the data collection. Data collection begins with the availability of vaccine in each facility’s community and will end on January 31, 2012.
To assist with this project, several tools and resources are offered below. Further information and/or assistance can also be obtained by contacting Kristi Durham at the Network 8 office.
